She has engaged in the clinical work of occupational diseases for 11 years, and long engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of occupational diseases. She has profound understanding on the diagnosis and treatment of occupational tumor (leukemia caused by benzene), organic solvent poisoning and occupational hand-arm vibration disease, as well as their progress. Meanwhile, she has carried out the treatment of occupational benzene-induced poisoning by using bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, and achieved a certain clinical achievements. She has undertaken 5 national and provincial scientific research projects, and published more than 20 papers. She used to be the sub-project manager of the project "Research on diagnosis and treatment technology of occupational poisoning" of "12th Five-Year" National Key Technology Research and Development Program, and was responsible for the youth project of National Natural Science Foundation of China and the independent research project of Key Laboratory of Guangdong Province.

Abstract:Aim to understand the clinical characteristics of occupational leukemia caused by benzene, analyze the problems during the diagnosis and treatment, suggest the solutions to the problems and provide evidences for better diagnosis and prevention of occupational leukemia caused by benzene in occupational disease prevention organizations. The data of occupational diagnosis of 212 leukemia cases was analyzed retrospectively. Results: 137 cases were diagnosed as occupational benzene leukemia(the occupational disease group)and 75 cases were not diagnosed (the non-occupational disease group). In the occupational disease group,101 cases (73.72%) were acute leukemia and 36 cases were chronical leukemia. There were 92 male and 45 female participants aged at 39.57±9.79 years old . There were 33.58%% of the participants whose age of onset was under 35 years old. The average exposure time to benzene was 6.88±5.54 years and latent period was 6.88±5.64 years. The cumulative duration of benzene exposure and the latency period less than 5 years were 69.23%、65.38% respectively. There are a variety of jobs that are benzene-exposed and the benzene organic solvent is complicated. The concentration of benzene in the air of working sites was 0.03~37.50(2.75±7.33)mg/m3  and out of which 78.43% was lower than 6mg/ m3  It is possible that leukemia caused by benzene occurs on working sites with lower exposure of benzene. Conclusion: the diagnosis of occupational benzene leukemia must be based on “Diagnosis Criteria of Occupational Cancer”GBZ94 and use the 46nd provision term “Law on the Prevention and Control of Occupational Diseases” effectively. Meanwhile it is necessary to prevent and restrict the use of benzene as thinner and solvent, improve the supervision on the typical industries and jobs with benzene exposure and reduce the occurrence of leukemia caused by benzene.
